So some months ago Carol compliments me for my “Father to son” cover and tells me it’d be nice to cover “March of the black Queen”. I started recording right away.
After a couple of days I had the piano-bass-drums parts done. I figured “now we get the rest of the stuff”. Me and carol thought we’d do it together, and we also got other friends interested!
Only problem is everybody’s always busy…and this song is *somewhat* of a challenge!
So I decided to do a first version of the song, where I also layout all the vocal parts for us to follow in the final version.
After the summer I decided to finally record guitars and voices. Man oh man was it difficult!
Queen are famous for many reasons; one of them is they can be complex but still sound easy-listening (at least to me). Queen II is a perfect example of how an album can be sophisticated and catchy at the same time.
