I’m back in AAMPP :)
Something rather unusual happened and I must say the tables have turned: someone replied! I’d like to thank Kira and Soshahi for making me change my mind. All I needed was to see that people do care. and it’s really nice to see they do! ^_^
Please go ahead and tell me I’m impatient.
After all I’ve cancelled my aampp account ONLY after 2 weeks basically nothing happened ;)
…And I keep going on about music Social Networks (SN on forth). But this time I’ll keep it very simple and quick.
I created an aampp account for one basic reason: I was searching for a ReverbNation valid alternative and I read an article where aampp was referenced as such.
I cancelled my aampp account because I realized it isn’t a valid alternative (duh).
The first week I gave it time. I posted my music and art, as with all other SN, and started giving feedbacks to other artists. I made friends with a music reviewer/journalist. I even made friends with an artist and subscribed to her page. But conversation was veeery a-sincronous. As I said at first I gave it time. After all I live in Italy while most others live in America.
By the end of week one, only one thing happened. Appereantly one of the peers listened to my music and commented it positively, calling another peer’s attention. He (or she) asked the other one if my music could be taken to the next stem (I even forgot what was the name of..some campaign..I don’t know).
I thought to myself this could be the next Jamendo experience, where for a while you get some attention on the front page or something similar. Which is very flattering. So I waited.
A week passed and I got no responses from my new friends nore from the peers. I’m used having to wait YEARS before someone actually reviews my music (take prog archives, for examples). But that should happen on a forum…or an online magazine. A social network should be about immediate response. waiting time should be 3 days AT MAX.
You may say I’ve become intolerant. You may say I’m too impatient. There was a time I’d have agreed with you.
I just think I’m tired of knocking at people’s door. My response is I simply got no time for waiting. People at this Social Network heard my music. They might as well knock at my door to see what’s going on, no?
What do you think?
…but I’m sure no one will reply, as usual.
